Crandon Park is a popular two-mile stretch of beach with a full service marina and restaurants nearby. If you are staying in the city of Miami, this is a great choice for a day at the beach. Combination kayak and snorkel outings are launched by Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department here.

You can kayak out to terrific snorkel sites off the Key and explore fish, sea creatures, sand flats and wreckage from sunken ships. Other options for snorkeling destinations include fossilized mangrove reefs and man-made artificial reefs designed to enhance and support the eco-system.

If you'd like a closer look at some of Miami's marine life, visit the Miami Seaquarium just outside the city. You can see unique outdoor marine shows starring dolphins and killer whales, or opt to learn to interact and swim with dolphins yourself. There are many exhibits to explore that feature seal and sea lions, sea turtles and the Florida Manatee.

Eating and Drinking in Miami

Miami's restaurants are an attraction themselves, and the ethnic diversity and variety of dining choices in the area makes for plentiful eating and drinking opportunities. There are fast-food joints, cafes and delis, diners and sit-down restaurants. Enjoy Haitian, Peruvian, Greek, Italian or Argentinean cuisine, or whatever else you're in the mood to try.

You won't want to miss the flavor of some of the local fare, including authentic Cuban dishes. You can also eat at all your favorite restaurants and bar chains done up in Miami style, featuring fresh seafood dishes and delicious daiquiris. Or, opt for an elegant night out and dine on gourmet cuisine. Whether you're in the mood for a quiet, romantic meal or a festive party, you'll find an ideal restaurant in Miami.

Miami Nightlife

After your meal, you'll want to head out for a taste of Miami's world-class nightlife. Many people flock to South Beach for a chic night out dancing from club to club. You can celebrity gaze to some extent in South Beach clubs, but many stars hang out in the pricey VIP rooms. South Beach is small enough to walk around, but taxis are always readily available. Crobar is one Washington Avenue, South Beach hotspot, and if you like live jazz, check out Jazid next door.

If you're hanging out on Ocean Drive, you'll want to visit Mango's Tropical Cafe. This is a very hot Havana-style club where the salsa blares and sexy dancers entertain. The far-eastern inspired Opium Club is another hot Miami nightspot on Collins Drive. It's a very exotic place to dance and features a unique outdoor venue.

Miami is easy to get around on foot or via taxi, but if you'd like super convenient transportation on your night out, try the South Beach Nightclub Shuttle. A $50 fee gets you door-to-door service from your hotel to one of Miami's hottest nightclubs. Your cover charge is included and you'll be ushered past the entrance lines for a VIP-style entrance.
