While spending time in Seoul, South Korea, I was able to eat Korean mandu (만두) dumplings a number of times.

Korean mandu (만두) are delicious dumplings made with a doughy wrapper and filled with pork and spices. They are then either deep fried as yaki or steamed as the normal kind.

You can either eat these Korean street food specialities in soup or just of a plate dipped into a sour vinegar soy sauce.

Insadong, a shopping area of Seoul, has a wonderful hole in the wall restaurant that serves extremely delicious dumplings that are worth going out of your way for. There’s almost always a line, but it’s fully worth it.

I ordered the mixed platter that included some steamed, some deep fried, and a few pieces of just steamed pork. They were each mouthwatering good – I know why there’s a line out the door everyday!

When you are in Korea, be sure to eat some delicious mandu!
