In a time when every day seems to be a national day of something, this is one travelers might actually want to pay attention to. According to a press release issued by Alaska Airlines, anyone wearing “any kind of holiday sweater” this Friday, December 20th will receive priority boarding on all Alaska and Horizon Air Flights.
“We know holiday travel can be stressful for some, which is why we’ve made sure flying with the ‘merrier carrier’ this time of year is an experience that brings nonstop joy to all our guests,” Natalie Bowman, Alaska Airlines’ managing director of marketing and advertising said. “We love going above and beyond to make your trip memorable and celebrating Ugly Sweater Day is just another way we’re making the holidays a priority.”
December 20th coincides of course with National Ugly Sweater Day which falls on the third Friday of every December. In addition to the one day ugly sweater promotion, Alaska has also teamed up with fellow Seattle based company Starbucks in contest to win one of six free trips to destinations including Chicago, Costa Rica, New York and Shanghai. The contest is in partnership with global partner Hainan Airlines.
